Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
Your true spiritual journey begins today making a sightseeing tour of three prime spiritual sites of Kathmandu.

Initially, start your trip by visiting Swayambhunath. Swayambhunath, is among the oldest religious sites in Nepal. Its complex structure represents different symbolic spiritual meanings. The dome at the base represents the entire world. When a person awakes from the attachments of the world, the person reaches the state of enlightenment. The thirteen pinnacles on the top symbolize that conscious beings have to go through the thirteen stages of spiritual realizations to reach enlightenment. Overall, Swayambhunath takes to the spiritual height to those who are suffering from the attachments.

Next to Swayambhunath, you pay your visit to Boudhanath. The awesome structure of Bouddhanath is indeed inspiring. A vast dome-shaped monument representing the Mind of the Buddha is the primary pilgrimage destination for Tantric Buddhists of the Himalayas and a major draw for Tibetan Buddhists from all over the planet. With countless monasteries surrounding it, Bouddhanath really awakens your inner realization.

At the evening time, you have to manage your time for Budhanilkantha Temple - another spiritual site in the north of Kathmandu. The deity at Budhanilkantha is about thousand years old. Lord Vishnu is about five meter long and lying in a thirteen meter long tank, as if floating with his legs. His four hands hold the four symbols of Vishnu, the Shankha as conch shell, Chakra as disc, Gadha as club and Padma as lotus flower. This site has spiritual meaning attached to Hindu mythology. Overnight in Kathmandu. (B)

Day 03: Sightseeing Tour of Changunarayan and Namobuddha
At this juncture of your tour, you are heading for Changunaranyan temple - an excellent showcase of traditional Nepalese architectural craftsmanship. The Changunarayan temple - a UNESCO Heritage site, stands majestically above the rice fields of Bhaktapur. Dedicated to Vishnu, the Preserver the temple’s origins go back to the 4th century. After enjoying this majestic piece of Nepalese art, this tour also covers Namobuddha monastery. A two hour drive will take us to this to Buddhist monastery. This monastery too has spiritual significance. It is widely believed that the Lord Buddha during his 7th reincarnation offered his body to a hungry Tigress and its cubs. This is considered a great act of mercy and kindness to be learned in the present time. At the evening we return back to Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu. (B)

Day 04: Sightseeing Tour of Dakshinkali, Chobar, Pharping and Kirtipur
It will be another fantastic day for roaming around spiritually significant sites of south of Kathmandu Valley. At first, we directly head for Dakshinkali. Dakshinkali is the temple of goddess kali located 22 km outside Kathmandu, and about 1 km outside the village of Pharping. There is a popular belief that Goddess Kali came in the dream of a Malla king, the ruler of 14th century and commanded the king to build a temple dedicating her in a very unknown strange place. The stone image of Kali is said to be found on the same spot Goddess Kali had commanded to build the Temple. Over her head a gilded canopy is kept erect with four golden serpents. Here wishes are made in front of the goddess with sacrifice of animals particularly of cockerels and uncastrated male goats.

On return drive, we visit the Chobar Gorge which lies at the foot of Chobar village. The legend about the birth of Kathmandu Valley speak of the Buddhist deity Manjushri cutting the hill at Chobar into half with a mighty sword, letting out the water of a lake and opening the fertile vale for habitation. From Chobar, we drive along a high ridge to Kirtipur, one of the oldest settlements in Kathmandu valley. In Kritipur, we visit the ridge top Bhag Bhairav temple. A number of shrines populate the temple compound, one of which houses Earth Goddess. Pregnant women flock to Earth Goddess, praying for safe pregnancies. At the end, we come back to Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu. (B)

You too can request for single room but it costs around USD 250. However, you have to consider the remoteness of travelled places where single room may not be feasible.

Porter Care

We are tremendously concern over the rights of the porters who facilitate travelers’ adventure dreams in the Himalayas. It is our serious-concern that the porters should be paid well and treated equally even in the harsh situation in the remote Himalayas. In case of emergency situation, we give equal rescue facilities as other team members get in the adverse situation in the higher altitude. Besides, we too are concern about Porter Protection Group (IPPG) which works in the field of protecting the rights of porter. In doing so, we recommend all our trekkers in the Himalayas just to keep their luggage under 15 kg so that it can be handled by porters smoothly.

Environmental Concerns

Being human beings, it is our responsibility to protect natural order, to conserve environment, and to love nature. Himalaya region is ecologically very much fragile and hence we try to practice “leave just footprints and take photos” so that future generation will to have chances to experience the beauty of Himalaya region. Respecting natural balance and being sensible towards local environment yields into protecting local cultures as well. Hence, our trip operations tremendously focus on environmental issues in the Himalayas and thereby ecotourism.

Trekking Group Arrangement

Himalayan Pleasure generally provides one leader for the trip operation and Sherpa porters for luggage carrying. It means if there are 4 trekkers there will be one assistance guide. In case of porters there will be one porter for two trekkers. This arrangement helps to carry out the trip smoothly even in the adverse situation. Our trips generally accommodate group of 10 people at a time. Despite this arrangement we can adjust or run the trips over than 10 people at time as well.

Best Season

The best seasons for travelling in the Himalayas are Autumn and Spring. Apart from these two seasons, there is a possibility of trekking the Himalayas even in the Winter and Summer seasons. In the Winter season, cold slightly affects the trips. But, travelling in the Summer season comes with tremendous rewards for a passionate botanist.
